There are many ways to explore this exciting island. Car hire is reasonably affordable and a safer option than a motorbike. You can get around the island in as little as a couple of hours, or make it a full day trip. Full Moon Bungalows have several reputable car hire agencies who offer insured roadworthy vehicles. Bike Hire is also available and is a very affordable way to explore. Please bear in mind though that the roads here can be pretty treacherous and normal rules of engagement don’t apply. If you are confident on a bike and have your wits about you then we are happy to arrange bike hire for you. Tuk Tuks are another alternative and can be found reasonably frequently on the main ring roads, however if you want to spend time in the more remote south of the island you could be waiting for some time when you want to move on to your next port of call. It is also worth noting that after six pm Tuk Tuks revert back to a normal taxi fair. Always negotiate your price before getting on board. You cant go more than a few hundred yards in Koh Samui without finding a taxi that is willing to take you anywhere you want to go. As most taxis in Koh Samui are unwilling to use their meters it is a rule of thumb that you must always negotiate the fare before you get inside. If you want to explore the interior of the island, that is rugged and un spoilt you can either do it foot, providing you have a decent pair of boots or hire a mountain bike. We have a superb mountain bike guide who spends 10 months of the year on the island so just let us know if you would like us to arrange a guided tour for you. What ever mode of transport you would like to take you around the island, just let us know and we will arrange it for you. Please note that a current driving license is required in order for you to drive a car or moped on Koh Samui and if you choose a moped we highly recommend you use a helmet and avoid using it when you are three sheets to the wind
