The Full Moon Party is an unforgettable experience, but make sure it is unforgettable for the right reasons by following our useful tips. 

• Do not take anything valuable or anything you can’t live without to the Full Moon Party. Like any huge gathering you are always going to find the odd opportunist thief and if you enjoy a drink you are not going to be as on the ball as usual. Take enough cash for the evening and leave your credit cards at home. It is fairly inevitable that at some point you will end up in the ocean so leave expensive cameras at home and if you want some pictures buy a cheap waterproof disposable camera. You won’t be able to hear yourself speak on the phone anyway so avoid loosing it or drowning it and leave it somewhere safe!
• If you are staying on Koh Phangan make sure you write down the name of your resort or take a business card with you if you are in a resort off Haad Rin Beach. That way it will be easy to find your way back and explain to the taxi driver where it is you want to go.
• Take some shoes to keep your feet safe from broken glass but don’t bother taking your best shoes; you will no doubt loose them. buy a cheap pair of flip flops and leave your best heals in the resort.
• If you are going to the party by speed boat from Koh Samui make sure you don’t loose your return ticket. The tickets are on strings you can wear around your neck. Lots of people are coming to and from the party by speedboat and people tend to swamp the return boat the second it turns up. Boats wont leave if they are overloaded so be sensible about it!
• If you are going to stay on Koh Phangan make sure you book your bungalow way in advance. A lot of bungalows and resorts will insist on a minimum stay of between 3 and 6 days during the Full Moon so be prepared to stay a while during this busy time. • Drugs are illegal in Thailand and the penalties are harsh. Unless you want to extend your stay by up to 99 years do not accept drugs from anybody who offers them.
• It is easy to overdo things at the Full Moon Party so make sure you are well hydrated before you go. Don’t accept drinks or food from strangers.
• Most of all drink, have fun and enjoy this wild and unique experience. Its worth noting that if you are not staying close to the party there is a sleeping area where you can chill out for a while.
